Neck conditions
Neck Pain
Neck pain is very common and can also give you headaches or cause pain referring into your shoulder blade. In some cases, if a nerve is ‘trapped’ you may feel tingling, weakness or pain into your arm or hand. As our lives have become more sedentary, we notice our patients often feel pain after long periods sitting at a computer or driving causing a ‘poky chin’ posture and tightness in the muscles at the back of your neck. We can help you with advising about how to sit at your desk as well as exercises to take the strain away from your neck and back.
Self Help Tip
Have your eyes checked! Visual problems can cause you to change your posture and ‘squint’ at the screen causing neck pain and headaches. Remember your head is heavy and weighs 10 to 12 lb’s! So exercises to strengthen your neck and upper back can really help. Our Physiotherapists can help you to understand the cause of your pain and use treatments to relieve your symptoms as well as support you to build strength and mobility in your neck
