Elbow tendinopathy known as Tennis Elbow or Golfers Elbow

A tendinopathy is an inflammation within your tendon or at the insertion onto the bone. Tennis elbow is a tendinopathy located on the outside of your elbow and golfers elbow is on the inside but the pain can sometimes refer into your forearm. Repeated movements at your wrist such as doing a lot of DIY, repetitive gripping movements playing sport or an injury can cause the onset of elbow tendinopathy. Sometimes the pain can also arise from your neck.

Self Help Tip

90% of elbow tendon pain will burn out within a year. Try wearing a tennis elbow strap on your forearm just below your elbow whilst using your arm to take  load away from the tendon insertions and help your elbow pain.
